2 tbsp butter
1 onion, sliced
8 oz. Mushrooms
2 pounds of Ground Beef (bison was a big hit for us)
Good pinch each of Salt and Pepper
Sass Bleu Cheese Dressing
Melt the butter in a frying pan and add the mushrooms and onions. Sauté them over medium heat, until the mushrooms are getting a little brown and the onions are golden and soft, about 20 minutes.
Season the meat with the salt and pepper. Form about 3 oz of the meat into a patty and make an indentation in the center. Pour a little of the bleu cheese dressing into the indentation, then flatten another 3 oz of meat and place right on top of the other half, sealing the bleu cheese in. Don’t worry if it gets messy!
Place the burgers on a grill pan, preheated on medium heat. Cook on each side for about 2-3 minutes depending on how done you like them.
Let them rest for a couple minutes, then assemble your burgers. We suggest toasting your buns and adding an extra splash of bleu cheese to pump up the volume on these burgers!
